Rothaus Tannenzäpfle pilsner

Rothaus Tannenzäpfle is one of Germany's most cult-status beers, originating from the Black Forest (Hochschwarzwald). The name 'Tannenzäpfle' refers to the pine cones common in the region, which are also depicted on the iconic label featuring 'Biergit,' the woman in traditional Black Forest attire.

Produced by the Badische Staatsbrauerei Rothaus, the brewery holds a unique position as it is state-owned by the Federal State of Baden-Württemberg. Unlike many large German breweries that have been acquired by international conglomerates, Rothaus remains under public ownership, maintaining its traditional brewing methods and regional roots in Grafenhausen. The beer shown celebrates the 70th anniversary of the Tannenzäpfle brand, which was first introduced in 1956.
