Sinalco is a historic German beverage brand, famously known as the oldest soft drink brand in continental Europe. It was created in 1902 by Franz Hartmann and Friedrich Eduard Bilz as a natural alternative to artificial beverages, originally launched under the name 'Bilz-Brause'. The name 'Sinalco' was adopted in 1905, derived from the Latin phrase 'sine alcohole' (without alcohol).
The brand is manufactured primarily in Germany but operates through a network of international licensing partners across more than 40 countries, particularly in the Middle East, Africa, and Europe. Since the late 1990s, the brand has been under the ownership of the Hövelmann family, who integrated it into their beverage group, ensuring its legacy remains independent and German-rooted.
