Wyndham is one of the world's largest and most diverse hotel franchising companies, with a global presence spanning approximately 95 countries. The brand trace its origins back to 1981 in Dallas, Texas, when it was founded by Trammell Crow. Over the decades, the brand evolved through various corporate restructurings, eventually becoming part of the Cendant Corporation before being spun off into Wyndham Worldwide.
Today, Wyndham Hotels & Resorts operates as an independent, publicly traded company following its spin-off from Wyndham Destinations (now Travel + Leisure Co.) in 2018. The company manages a massive portfolio of well-known economy and midscale brands, including Super 8, Days Inn, Ramada, and La Quinta. While the corporate headquarters remain in the United States, their service 'product'—hospitality—is manufactured or delivered locally in thousands of locations worldwide through a predominately franchised business model.
