Weis Raspberry & Coconut Bar

Weis is an iconic Australian brand founded in 1957 by Les Weis in Toowoomba, Queensland. Its signature product, the Fruito Bar, became a staple of the Australian summer, known for its unique two-toned design and high-quality real fruit ingredients. The Raspberry & Coconut variety is part of their modern dairy-free range, utilizing coconut milk and real fruit pulp to maintain the brand's reputation for authentic flavor.

Historically, the products were manufactured in Toowoomba for over 60 years. Following the acquisition by Unilever in 2017, production was eventually shifted to Unilever’s Minto factory in New South Wales. Despite the change in factory location, the brand continues to emphasize its Australian heritage and the use of natural ingredients sourced from regional suppliers.

In 2024, Unilever announced plans to spin off its global ice cream division into a standalone business by the end of 2025. This move includes Weis, along with global giants like Ben & Jerry’s and Magnum, as the corporation focuses on its core power brands in personal care and nutrition. As a result, the ultimate ownership of Weis is transitioning from the broad Unilever consumer goods umbrella to a specialized, independent ice cream entity headquartered in the Netherlands.
