Pioneer DVD Player

Pioneer is a historic Japanese brand that has long been synonymous with high-quality audio and visual equipment. Originally established in Tokyo in 1938, the brand gained international fame for its innovations in speakers, laserdisc technology, and car audio systems.

Starting in the mid-2010s, the brand's ownership structure became more complex as it divested various divisions. While the brand name is still managed by Pioneer Corporation for certain professional and car electronics, much of the home audiovisual equipment production (like DVD players) was transitioned through partnerships with Onkyo. Today, the Pioneer brand's home electronics division is part of the Premium Audio Company, which is a subsidiary of the American conglomerate VOXX International. Most manufacturing for these consumer electronics takes place in large-scale facilities in China and Southeast Asia.
