Xerox is one of the most iconic names in the history of office technology, originally founded in Rochester, New York, as The Haloid Photographic Company in 1906. The brand became synonymous with document photocopying after the invention of xerography by Chester Carlson. While it was once the undisputed leader in copier technology, the modern brand has evolved into a diverse provider of digital print technology and managed document services.

Today, the manufacturing of Xerox hardware is complex. For decades, the majority of Xerox's office equipment was designed and manufactured through Fuji Xerox, a long-standing joint venture with the Japanese company Fujifilm. Following the dissolution of their partnership agreement in recent years, Fujifilm Business Innovation continues to be a primary original equipment manufacturer (OEM) for Xerox products. Xerox also maintains its own product development and relies on a global supply chain for parts and software assembly.

Xerox remains an independent, publicly traded American corporation headquartered in Norwalk, Connecticut. It continues to focus on business process automation, digital labels, and packaging solutions while maintaining its legacy as a pioneer in workplace technology.
