Kellogg's is a foundational brand in the global breakfast industry, originating in Battle Creek, Michigan, at the turn of the 20th century. Originally born from the dietary experiments of Will Keith Kellogg and Dr. John Harvey Kellogg at the Battle Creek Sanitarium, the brand revolutionized the morning meal with the introduction of Corn Flakes. This innovation paved the way for a massive portfolio of household names including Frosted Flakes, Rice Krispies, and Froot Loops.
Following a significant corporate reorganization in 2023, the brand's ownership structure was split to better focus on specific market segments. In North America, the cereal business is now managed by WK Kellogg Co, which retains the historic headquarters in Battle Creek. Internationally, the cereal portfolio, along with snacking assets, is owned by Kellanova. This dual-ownership structure ensures that while the core legacy of cereal remains focused on its traditional markets, the global expansion and snacking categories are managed with a broader strategic outlook. Manufacturing remains localized across various continents to support supply chains in North America, Europe, Latin America, and Asia.
