Acne Studios is a multidisciplinary luxury fashion house based in Stockholm, Sweden. Founded in 1996 as part of the creative collective ACNE (Ambition to Create Novel Expressions), the brand gained international acclaim through its minimalist Scandinavian design aesthetic, high-quality denim, and avant-garde seasonal collections.

While the design and brand identity are deeply rooted in Sweden, the manufacturing process is global. Acne Studios produces its garments and accessories in multiple countries, typically selecting specialized factories in Italy, Portugal, and China to ensure high-end craftsmanship. Leather goods and footwear are often crafted in Italy, while jersey and knitwear pieces are frequently manufactured in Portugal or China.

In terms of ownership, Acne Studios remains an independent fashion house. While the founders originally held full control, a significant stake was acquired in 2018 by IDG Capital and I.T Group to help fuel its international expansion. However, the company continues to be headquartered in Stockholm, maintaining its creative independence and core Scandinavian identity.
