Ritz is one of the most iconic cracker brands globally, known for its buttery flavor and distinct circular shape. Originally introduced in the United States during the Great Depression, it was designed to offer a taste of luxury at an affordable price. Over the decades, it has become a staple in household pantries across North America.
In Canada, Ritz products are manufactured locally to serve the domestic market. The packaging visible in the image includes French labeling ("Craquelins", "Originaux"), which is standard for products distributed within Canada. The brand has evolved from a single product into a diverse line including flavored crackers, sandwiches, and toasted chips.
Ownership of Ritz has transitioned through several major corporate mergers. It was originally a product of the National Biscuit Company (Nabisco). Today, following the spin-off of Kraft Foods' snack division, the brand is owned by Mondelez International, a global snacking powerhouse headquartered in the United States.
