K-Salat is a quintessential Danish brand that has been a staple in local households for decades. Founded in 1937, the brand is widely recognized for its high-quality dressings, mayonnaise, and prepared 'smørrebrød' salads that are integral to Danish food culture.

While the brand was originally independent and later became part of the Norwegian conglomerate Orkla, it was acquired by the Danish company Stryhns in 2017. Today, K-Salat is under the ultimate ownership of the Norwegian industrial group Orkla ASA, following the merger of various business units. Most products continue to be manufactured in Denmark, maintaining the brand's local heritage while benefiting from the logistical and financial strength of a major Nordic food group.
