Gråsten Salads and Remoulade

Gråsten is a historic Danish food brand especially famous for its traditional remoulade and cold deli-style salads. The brand takes its name from the town of Gråsten in Southern Denmark, where it was established in 1947 by Johannes Lauth. What started as a small local production of salads and sauces quickly grew into a household staple across Denmark.

Today, the production remains largely centered in Denmark, maintaining the brand's local heritage and quality standards. Over the decades, the ownership has transitioned from a family-owned business to being part of larger food conglomerates. Since 2003, it has been under the ownership of the Norwegian industrial group Orkla, specifically managed through their Danish food division. This ownership allows Gråsten to maintain its market-leading position in the Danish condiment sector while benefiting from an international supply chain and sustainability framework.
