Bouvet-Ladubay is one of France's most prestigious producers of sparkling wine, located in the Saumur region of the Loire Valley. Founded in 1851 by Etienne Bouvet and his wife Celestine Ladubay, the house has a long history of craftsmanship, utilizing the 'Méthode Traditionnelle' to produce high-quality wines aged in extensive Tufa limestone cellars.
Bouvet Saphir is their signature vintage cuvée, representing the elegance of Saumur. The production is concentrated in the Loire Valley, where the unique terroir provides the ideal conditions for Chenin Blanc and Chardonnay grapes. Ownership of the house has shifted over the years; it was notably owned by the Taittinger family for several decades before being sold to United Spirits Limited (Diageo). However, in 2015, the Monmousseau family, who had long managed the house, successfully bought it back, regaining full independence for the historic brand.
