Founded in 1720 by Mathieu Teisseire in the heart of the French Alps, Teisseire is one of France’s oldest and most iconic beverage brands. It began as a distillery focused on flavored liqueurs and spirits but eventually transitioned into the production of high-quality fruit syrups and concentrates that are now synonymous with French café and household culture. The brand is particularly well-known for its distinctive metal canisters and its association with major French cultural events, such as being the official supplier for the Tour de France.
Historically a family-owned French enterprise, Teisseire was acquired by the British beverage giant Britvic PLC in 2010. While the brand is now part of an international portfolio, its production remains deeply rooted in France, primarily at its historic site in Crolles, near Grenoble. This ensures that the brand maintains its premium reputation and adherence to traditional French syrup-making techniques using ripe fruits and mountain water.
