Krëfel is a leading Belgian retail chain specializing in home appliances, consumer electronics, and kitchen installations. Founded in 1958 by Auguste Poulet, the brand's name was inspired by the German city of Krefeld. While Krëfel does not manufacture products itself, it serves as a major distributor for international brands which produce their goods in various global locations, including Europe, Asia, and North America.

Historically a family-owned Belgian enterprise, Krëfel was acquired in 2019 by the French group Boulanger, which is part of United.b. For 2026 and beyond, Krëfel remains a central part of the Boulanger ecosystem, benefiting from shared logistics and purchasing power. The ultimate ownership lies with the Association Familiale Mulliez (AFM), one of Europe's most significant private equity families, who also control other major retail entities such as Auchan and Decathlon.
