Cardenal Mendoza Solera Gran Reserva Brandy

Cardenal Mendoza is a premium Brandy de Jerez produced in Spain by the historic winery Sánchez Romate Hermanos. The brand's history dates back to 1887 when the winery, which had been around since 1781, decided to create a private reserve brandy for the family. Its name honors Pedro González de Mendoza, a high-ranking Spanish cardinal and statesman who lived in the late 15th century and was a key supporter of Christopher Columbus.

The production of Cardenal Mendoza takes place in Jerez de la Frontera, within the famous 'Sherry Triangle.' It is aged through the traditional Solera system in American oak barrels that previously contained Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso sherries, giving the liquid its characteristic dark color and complex flavor profile. Today, Sánchez Romate Hermanos remains a family-owned independent company, standing as one of the few remaining family wineries in the region.
