Tendam is a powerhouse in the European fashion industry, originating from a small family-owned haberdashery shop established in Madrid in 1880. Over more than a century, it transformed into the internationally recognized Grupo Cortefiel, which rebranded to Tendam in 2018 to better reflect its modern, plural identity as a multi-brand group holding some of Spain's most iconic retail names.

Manufacturing for Tendam brands is spread across a global network. While design and administration remain centralized in Spain, the physical production of garments is outsourced to various locations, including Spain, Morocco, Turkey, and Southeast Asia. The group maintains high standards of quality and sustainability across these diverse manufacturing hubs to supply its nearly 2,000 points of sale worldwide.

Since 2005, the company has been under the ownership of major investment groups. Currently, CVC Capital Partners and PAI Partners are the primary owners, though the group has recently attracted significant interest and investment from the Multiply Group in 2025. Headquartered in Madrid, Tendam continues to expand its digital and physical footprint across Europe, the Middle East, and Asia.
