Plectranthus verticillatus (Swedish Ivy)

Plectranthus verticillatus, commonly known as Swedish Ivy or Money Plant, is a popular ornamental plant known for its thick, crenate leaves and ease of care. Despite its common name, it is native to southeastern Africa, not Sweden, and belongs to the Lamiaceae family. It became popularly associated with Sweden after it was first introduced and extensively cultivated there as a trailing houseplant.

As a biological product (a live plant), it does not have a single manufacturer. These plants are grown globally in nurseries and greenhouses for the ornamental market. The specimen shown is in a standard black plastic nursery pot, which is common for local plant sales. Ownership is generally non-proprietary unless specific cultivars are patented; most standard varieties are widely shared through cuttings and local cultivation.
