Läkerol Salvi sugar-free pastilles

Läkerol is one of Scandinavia's most iconic confectionery brands, best known for its small, sugar-free pastilles that come in distinctive flip-top boxes. The brand was founded in 1909 by Adolf Ahlgren in Gävle, Sweden. The characteristic "A" logo on each pastille still stands as a tribute to the founder. Originally marketed for its soothing properties for the throat, it has evolved into a popular refreshment candy available in a wide variety of flavors.

While the brand has its roots and heritage in Sweden, modern production has been centralized. Following the merger of the Swedish company Cloetta and the Finnish company Fazer's confectionery division (and subsequent splits), Cloetta remains the owner. In 2014, Cloetta moved most of its pastille production from its historic Gävle factory to a modern facility in Levice, Slovakia. Consequently, most Läkerol products found on the market today are manufactured in Slovakia.

Today, Läkerol is owned by Cloetta AB, a leading confectionery company in Northern Europe. Cloetta is headquartered in Solna, Sweden, and manages a portfolio of strong local brands across the Nordic countries, the Netherlands, and Italy. The brand maintains its status as a Purveyor to the Royal Court of Sweden, underscoring its historical importance and continued quality standards.
