Marker Ski Bindings

Marker is a prestigious name in winter sports, founded in 1952 by Hannes Marker in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany. The brand revolutionized the industry by introducing the first commercially successful safety ski bindings, a milestone that significantly reduced leg injuries for skiers. Marker pioneered many of the standards used in modern binding technology, including the movable Anti-Friction Device (AFD).

Today, while the brand maintains deep German roots and engineering heritage, its production is primarily concentrated in the Czech Republic, specifically at the MDL facility in Kostelec nad Orlicí. This factory serves as the central manufacturing hub for Marker's extensive range of alpine, touring, and race bindings.

Ownership of the brand has evolved over the decades. Since 2000, Marker has been a core component of the Völkl Marker Dalbello (MDV) group. In 2024, the group was acquired by Kohlberg & Company from Newell Brands, placing it under the umbrella of Elevate Outdoor Collective. This collective manages several iconic outdoor brands and oversees the global distribution and strategic growth of the Marker brand from its headquarters in the United States.
