Alinta Energy is a prominent Australian utility company providing electricity and natural gas services. The brand traces its roots back to Western Australia in the 1990s as AlintaGas, a state-owned enterprise that was later privatized. Today, it serves over one million customers across New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland, South Australia, and Western Australia.

While the company operates exclusively within the Australian energy market and manages extensive domestic infrastructure—including gas pipelines and power stations—it is no longer Australian-owned. The brand is currently a major player in the transition to renewable energy, investing in large-scale solar and wind projects across the continent to complement its traditional gas and coal-fired power generation assets.

Since 2017, Alinta Energy has been owned by the Chow Tai Fook Enterprises (CTFE), a Hong Kong-based conglomerate. This acquisition integrated Alinta into a global portfolio of investments, though the company continues to be headquartered and managed locally in Sydney, Australia.
