Ragusa Bar

Ragusa is a legendary Swiss chocolate bar known for its whole hazelnuts and smooth praline filling, encased in thin layers of dark or milk chocolate. It was created in 1942 by Camille Bloch during a period of cocoa shortage; he used ground hazelnuts and whole nuts as a filling to conserve the limited cocoa supply. The name 'Ragusa' was inspired by the coastal city now known as Dubrovnik, where Bloch once spent a holiday.

Today, the brand remains a family-owned icon of Swiss confectionery. It is produced solely in the Jura region of Switzerland. Unlike many other global chocolate brands that have been acquired by large multinationals, Ragusa continues to be manufactured by Chocolats Camille Bloch SA, preserving its heritage and traditional production methods.
