Willemoes Ale

Willemoes is a premium specialty beer brand named after Peter Willemoes, a Danish naval hero. The brand was established by Bryggeriet Vestfyen, one of Denmark's oldest and most respected regional breweries, located in Assens on the island of Funen. The Willemoes series is known for its higher alcohol content and complex flavor profiles compared to standard lagers, often featuring varieties like Ale, Porter, and Stout.

In terms of production, Willemoes beer is brewed and bottled domestically in Denmark at the Bryggeriet Vestfyen facilities. In 2021, the brewery was acquired by the Finnish beverage giant Olvi Group, marking a significant shift in ownership. Despite this international acquisition, the brand maintains its strong Danish identity and continues to be primarily produced in its original hometown of Assens, supporting local Danish craftsmanship under the umbrella of a larger Nordic beverage conglomerate.
