Kalkhoff electric bike

Kalkhoff is a historic German bicycle brand founded in 1919 by Heinrich Kalkhoff in Cloppenburg, Lower Saxony. Originally starting as a small family business selling bicycle parts, it grew into one of Germany's leading bicycle manufacturers. The brand is particularly renowned for its innovation in the trekking and city bike segments, and more recently, as a pioneer in the European e-bike market.

While the brand maintains deep roots in Germany—assembling many of its premium models at its modern factory in Cloppenburg—its ownership has transitioned to international conglomerates. Kalkhoff is currently part of Focus & Kalkhoff Holding GmbH, which is owned by Pon.Bike, a division of the Dutch conglomerate Pon Holdings. This acquisition by Pon Holdings, which is one of the world's largest bicycle groups, has provided the brand with the resources to expand its global distribution while maintaining its reputation for German engineering and quality.
