Lipton is one of the world's most iconic beverage brands, with a history dating back to the late 19th century in Scotland. Originally established as a tea brand, it transitioned heavily into the ready-to-drink (RTD) market, becoming a global leader in bottled iced tea. The brand's products are widely known for their distinctive yellow labeling and fruit-infused tea variations, such as the lemon flavour shown here.

The manufacturing of Lipton ready-to-drink tea is decentralized to ensure freshness and reduce logistics costs, meaning it is produced in dozens of countries worldwide. Distribution and production are typically handled through a long-standing partnership with major bottling companies, allowing the product to maintain a dominant presence in grocery stores and convenience outlets across the globe.

Historically part of the Unilever portfolio, the ownership structure of Lipton has evolved. Following a major divestment in 2022, the tea business (excluding certain joint ventures) was spun off into an independent entity known as Ekaterra. This entity was subsequently acquired by CVC Capital Partners. Today, the Lipton brand operates under the umbrella of CVC's tea company, known as LIPTON Teas and Infusions, which continues to manage its global heritage and market expansion.
