Gran Moravia is a long-aged hard cheese created by the Italian Brazzale family. The product represents a unique cross-border collaboration in the European dairy industry. While the milk is sourced from the lush agricultural regions of Moravia in the Czech Republic and the cheese is initialy produced in the Litovel dairy (the largest cheese factory in the country), it is traditionally transported to Italy for its aging and ripening process.
The brand belongs to the Brazzale Group, Italy's oldest family-owned dairy company, which has been in operation since 1784. The 'Cucina' branding seen on the packaging indicates that this specific product is part of an private label range often distributed through retail chains like Aldi. Despite its production outside of Italy's traditional PDO regions, it is crafted using authentic Italian copper-vat methods and is certified as vegetarian-friendly due to the use of vegetable rennet.
