Granado is one of Brazil's most traditional and oldest pharmaceutical brands, founded in 1870 by José Antônio Coxito Granado in Rio de Janeiro. Known for its historical pharmacy-style aesthetics, the brand rose to prominence as the official pharmacy of the Brazilian Imperial Family.

In 2016, the Spanish luxury conglomerate Puig acquired a minority stake in the company to help fuel international expansion, though the brand continues to operate with its Brazilian heritage at its core under the leadership of the Freeman family, who acquired the company in the 1990s.
