Wellaflex is a prominent sub-brand of Wella, a name synonymous with professional hair care excellence. The brand originated in Germany, founded by Franz Ströher in the late 19th century, and has since grown into a global leader in the salon and retail hair styling markets.
The Wellaflex line specifically targets the consumer market, offering salon-quality styling results for home use. Most products in the Wellaflex range, including the hair thickening gel sprays, are manufactured in Germany, aligning with the brand's heritage of German engineering and quality standards.
Ownership of the Wella brand has transitioned through major corporations in recent decades. After being owned by Procter & Gamble and later Coty Inc., Wella (including the Wellaflex brand) became an independent company in late 2020. It is currently majority-owned by KKR, a leading global investment firm, and continues to operate as Wella Company, maintaining its headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland, and Darmstadt, Germany.
