Parmareggio is a globally recognized brand specializing in Parmigiano Reggiano, commonly known as the 'King of Cheeses.' The brand's products are deeply rooted in the Italian provinces of Parma, Reggio Emilia, Modena, and parts of Mantua and Bologna. This region is the only place in the world where authentic Parmigiano Reggiano can be produced, as it holds a Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) status, ensuring that all production from milk collection to aging happens within this specific territory.
Originally founded in 1983 in Montecavolo di Quattro Castella, Reggio Emilia, Parmareggio quickly became a market leader through innovation and effective branding. In the late 2010s, a significant merger between Parmareggio and Grandi Salumifici Italiani led to the creation of the Bonterre Group. This strategic move combined Italy's excellence in cheese and cured meats under one corporate umbrella. Today, Parmareggio operates as part of the Bonterre ecosystem, maintaining its heritage while benefiting from a large-scale cooperative distribution network in Italy and abroad.
