Halifax is a prominent Danish burger restaurant chain that was founded in 2007 by Ulrich Deichmann and Peter Krogh-Christiansen. The brand's name is inspired by the vibrant spirit of the city of Halifax in Nova Scotia, Canada, reflecting the founders' desire to blend international burger culture with Danish craftsmanship. Since its inception, Halifax has become one of the most recognizable casual dining brands in the Greater Copenhagen area and selected cities across Denmark.

In early 2024, the ownership of Halifax underwent a significant shift when it was acquired by the investment firm Capidea for a controlling stake of 70%. This change in ownership was designed to professionalize the brand's operations and facilitate further expansion. Despite the corporate acquisition, the operation remains focused on its Danish roots, sourcing local ingredients and maintaining a production presence entirely within Denmark.
