Binaca is an iconic oral hygiene brand with a rich history in the Indian market. Launched in the early 1950s as Binaca Top toothpaste, the brand became a household name largely due to its sponsorship of 'Binaca Geetmala,' a legendary radio program that captivated millions of listeners across the Indian subcontinent. The brand's identity is deeply tied to this cultural heritage, making it one of the most recognized vintage brands in the region.

Originally part of the portfolio of the Swiss company Ciba (which later became Novartis), the brand underwent several ownership changes. It was eventually acquired by the multinational Reckitt Benckiser before being sold to the Indian consumer goods giant Dabur in 1996. Under Dabur's management, the brand has shifted focus from its original toothpaste products to primarily marketing toothbrushes. Today, Binaca remains a key part of Dabur's extensive consumer care segment, leveraging its nostalgic value while catering to modern hygiene needs.
