Jacobs is a historic German coffee brand with roots dating back to 1895, when Johann Jacobs opened a coffee and tea shop in Bremen. The brand is famous for its 'Krounung' line but also offers regional variations like the 'Eklektos' filter coffee shown, which is marketed heavily in Greece as a premium filter coffee choice.
While the brand originated in Germany, the manufacturing of its ground coffee products is distributed across various European facilities, primarily based in Germany through the Hemelingen plant. Today, Jacobs is a flagship brand of JDE Peet's, which was formed following the merger of Jacobs Douwe Egberts and Peet's Coffee. JDE Peet's is the world's largest pure-play coffee and tea company, controlled by the investment firm JAB Holding Company.
