Royco bouillon and seasoning

Royco is a renowned global culinary brand, primarily known for its flavor-enhancing bouillon cubes, powder seasonings, and dehydrated soups. The brand has a deep history, originating in the Netherlands in the mid-20th century, where it became a household staple for quick and nutritious meal solutions. Over the decades, Royco expanded its footprint significantly, becoming a market leader in various regions, most notably across Africa (especially in Kenya and Nigeria) and parts of Europe.

In terms of ownership, Royco has undergone several transitions. It was originally part of the Unilever portfolio for many years. However, as part of a strategic divestment of Unilever's tea and certain food segments to focus on core growth areas, the brand's ownership became segmented. In many markets, including much of Africa and parts of Europe, Royco is currently owned and managed by Unilever. However, in other specific European territories, portions of the dry soup business were divested to other entities like Continental Foods, which was later acquired by the Spanish company GBfoods. Despite these shifts, it remains one of the world's most recognized names in the seasoning and soup sector, with manufacturing occurring in local hubs across Africa and Europe to cater to regional tastes.
