Dixon Ticonderoga is one of the oldest and most iconic American brands in the stationery industry. Originally founded by Joseph Dixon in the early 19th century, the company became synonymous with the 'Yellow Pencil' and high-quality graphite production. For over two centuries, it has been a staple in classrooms and offices across the United States.

While the brand maintains its historic American identity, manufacturing has expanded globally to optimize production. Today, Dixon Ticonderoga products are manufactured in several locations, primarily in Mexico and China, following the closure of its last U.S.-based factory in the early 2000s.

In terms of ownership, the brand underwent a significant transition in 2005 when it was acquired by the Italian multinational F.I.L.A. (Fabbrica Italiana Lapis ed Affini). This acquisition integrated the historic American brand into a global portfolio of art and writing supplies. The brand is now managed as a key subsidiary under the F.I.L.A. Group, which is headquartered in Milan, Italy.
