Canadian Club & Dry is a popular pre-mixed alcoholic beverage specifically tailored for the Australian market. While the base spirit, Canadian Club Whisky, has its historic roots in Ontario, Canada, the Ready-to-Drink (RTD) versions sold in Australia are typically manufactured locally. This local production ensures freshness and aligns with the carbonation and bottling requirements of the region.
The brand was originally established by Hiram Walker in 1858 in Detroit but moved across the river to Windsor, Ontario, to avoid American prohibition sentiments. Over the decades, ownership shifted until it became a hallmark of the Beam Suntory portfolio. Today, Canadian Club is owned by Suntory Global Spirits, a Japanese multinational corporation that remains a dominant force in the global spirits industry, known for overseeing a vast range of premium bourbon, scotch, and whisky brands.
