NAGRA NexGuard

NAGRA NexGuard is a market-leading forensic watermarking solution designed for the media and entertainment industry to combat digital piracy. Originally developed by the French technology firm Civolution, the NexGuard business was acquired in 2016 by the Kudelski Group to bolster its security portfolio under the NAGRA brand. The technology works by embedding invisible, unique identifiers into video content, allowing broadcasters and streaming services to trace pirated material back to its specific source, whether it originates from a set-top box, a mobile app, or a web browser.

Today, the brand operates as part of Nagravision, the digital security division of the Kudelski Group. Its manufacturing and development are primarily high-tech software engineering activities based out of Switzerland, France and various global R&D centers. As an essential tool for protecting high-value assets like live sports and Hollywood blockbusters, NexGuard is integrated into major global platforms, including those operated by SK Broadband and RAI, cementing its role as a critical component in the modern digital distribution ecosystem.
