Nexen Tire is a prominent tire manufacturer with a history dating back to 1942, originally established as Heung-A Tire Company. It was the first company in Korea to manufacture rubber tires and later underwent several transformations, notably as Woosung Tire, before rebranding as Nexen Tire in 2000. This shift in identity marked its transition toward a global brand, focusing on high-performance tires and innovative technology.
Today, Nexen maintains a significant global footprint with manufacturing facilities strategically located in South Korea (Yangsan and Changnyeong), China (Qingdao), Vietnam, and a state-of-the-art automated plant in the Czech Republic (Žatec). This distributed production network allows Nexen to supply major automotive manufacturers and aftermarket retailers worldwide.
The brand remains under the ultimate ownership of its South Korean parent company, Nexen Tire Corporation. Expanding beyond just manufacturing, Nexen has established a global R&D network with hubs in Korea, the US, Germany, and China, solidifying its position as a major player in the international automotive supply chain.
