Raffaello is a premium coconut specialty confection characterized by a crispy wafer shell, a smooth creamy filling, and a whole blanched almond at its core, all encased in a layer of shredded coconut. Unlike many other confectionery products from the same manufacturer, Raffaello is distinct for containing no chocolate, focusing instead on the marriage of almond and coconut textures.
The brand was launched in 1990 by the Italian confectionery giant Ferrero. Since its introduction, it has become a staple of the global gift-giving market, particularly in Europe and Asia. While the Ferrero Group is headquartered in Italy and Luxembourg, the bulk of Raffaello's global supply is manufactured in specialized facilities, most notably in Belsk Duży, Poland, which serves as a major hub for the brand’s international distribution.
Ferrero remains a private, family-owned enterprise, with the Ferrero family maintaining strict control over the brand's heritage and production standards. This ownership structure has allowed Raffaello to maintain a consistent brand identity as a sophisticated, light alternative to traditional heavy cocoa-based pralines.
