Red Prince apples are a premium variety originally discovered in Germany by the Princen brothers in 1994. The variety is a natural cross between Jonathan and Golden Delicious apples. In the Canadian market, these apples are grown and marketed exclusively by Binkley Apples Ltd. in the Blue Mountains region of Ontario, near Georgian Bay.

The packaging highlights the unique 'Mises en Cave' (cellar-aged) process, where the apples are harvested in the fall and stored in temperature-controlled environments to allow their natural sugars and acids to balance, resulting in a distinct 'crunchy' (croquantes) texture and sweet flavor profile available in late winter and spring.
