Olio De Carlo is a historic Italian brand specializing in the production of high-quality extra virgin olive oil. The brand's roots date back to the 17th century in the Puglia region, specifically in Bitritto, near Bari. This area is world-renowned for its optimal climate and soil conditions for olive cultivation, particularly the Coratina and Ogliarola Barese varieties.
The manufacturing process remains deeply tied to tradition while incorporating modern technology at the Frantoio De Carlo (the family mill). All production stages, from the harvest in the family-owned groves (Azienda Agricola De Carlo) to the pressing and bottling, occur within the Puglia region. The De Carlo family continues to manage the brand, ensuring that the 'Crus' and monovarietal oils maintain their protected status and artisanal quality.
Ownership of the brand has remained entirely family-owned for generations. Unlike large industrial food conglomerates, Olio De Carlo is operated by Az. Agr. De Carlo and Frantoio De Carlo Srl, maintaining a direct chain of command from the land to the bottle. This independence allows them to focus on small-batch quality and sustainable agricultural practices within the Italian olive oil sector.
