Lumix is the renowned brand label for digital cameras from Panasonic, ranging from compact point-and-shoot models to professional-grade digital single-lens mirrorless (DSLM) cameras. Launched in 2001, the brand gained significant market respect through its long-standing partnership with Leica Camera AG, which began in the early 2000s and involves the use of Leica-certified optics in many Lumix lenses.

While the brand originated in Japan, the manufacturing footprint is global. High-end professional bodies and specialized lenses are often still manufactured at Panasonic’s facilities in Japan to ensure precision, but the vast majority of consumer-focused models and components are produced in China and Vietnam to optimize production costs and supply chain efficiency.
