BrewDog Punk IPA is one of the most recognizable craft beers in the world, originally launched in the United Kingdom. This specific variant is a Gluten Free version of their flagship Post Modern Classic India Pale Ale, designed to provide the same flavor profile of citrus and tropical fruit while being safe for those with gluten sensitivities.
Historically, BrewDog was founded in Ellon, Scotland, and maintains its primary brewing facility there. As the brand has expanded globally, it has established brewing operations in the United States (Columbus, Ohio), Germany (Berlin), and Australia (Brisbane). This decentralized manufacturing approach ensures freshness across different international markets.
Ownership of BrewDog remains largely independent, though it has evolved beyond its two original founders. While James Watt and Martin Dickie started the company, a significant minority stake (approximately 22%) was acquired by the American private equity firm TSG Consumer Partners. Despite this investment, BrewDog prides itself on its 'Equity for Punks' crowdfunding model, which has allowed thousands of individual fans to own a portion of the business.
