Maille is a world-renowned French brand with a heritage dating back to 1747, when it was founded by Antoine-Claude Maille. Originally serving as the official vinegar and mustard maker to the royal court of King Louis XV, the brand became synonymous with premium Dijon mustard and gourmet condiments. The brand's signature flagship boutique remains a landmark in Paris.

Throughout the 20th century, the brand underwent several ownership changes, eventually becoming part of the Amora-Maille group. In 2000, the brand was acquired by the consumer goods giant Unilever. Today, while maintaining its historical identity and premium positioning, Maille products are distributed globally. Most of the high-end mustard production remains concentrated in the Burgundy region of France, although large-scale distribution involves a complex multinational supply chain under Unilever's stewardship.
