Milka is one of the world's most recognizable chocolate brands, easily identified by its signature lilac packaging and the Alpine cow 'Lila'. Originally established in Switzerland in 1901 by Philippe Suchard, the brand name is a portmanteau of the German words for its primary ingredients: 'Milch' (milk) and 'Kakao' (cocoa). The MMMAX line represents larger, thicker chocolate bars designed for indulgence, often featuring layered fillings as seen in the Triolade variety which combines alpine milk chocolate, white chocolate, and dark chocolate.

While the brand has Swiss roots, it is no longer Swiss-owned. After a series of mergers through Suchard and Kraft Foods, it is now part of the snacks giant Mondelēz International. Production is distributed across several European facilities to meet global demand, with major manufacturing sites located in Lörrach (Germany), Bludenz (Austria), and Svoboda (Ukraine).
