BuzzBallz RTD Cocktails

BuzzBallz was founded in 2009 by Merrilee Kick in Carrollton, Texas. The brand gained instant recognition due to its unique, spherical, shatterproof packaging and high alcohol-by-volume (ABV) content compared to other RTD beverages. Originally operating as a family-owned business under Southern Champion, the brand successfully disrupted the portable alcohol market by offering pre-mixed cocktails like the 'Choc Tease' and 'Teenie Rita' that were convenient for poolside, beach, and event consumption.

In early 2024, the global beverage giant Sazerac Company acquired BuzzBallz (Southern Champion), marking a significant shift in its ownership. This acquisition allowed the brand to leverage Sazerac’s massive global distribution network. While the product was born in Texas and continues to have significant manufacturing roots there, the brand is now part of a global portfolio that includes legendary names like Buffalo Trace and Fireball, ensuring its expansion into international markets beyond North America.
