Galbani Gim is a renowned variety of Gorgonzola PDO (Protected Designation of Origin) cheese known for its creamy texture, often marketed as 'con la Goccia' (with the drop). The brand Galbani was founded in 1882 in Italy by Egidio Galbani. It has grown to become one of Italy's most recognized dairy brands globally. While born as an independent Italian company, Galbani underwent several ownership changes, eventually being acquired by the French multinational dairy giant Lactalis in 2006. Production remains deeply rooted in the Italian regions authorized for Gorgonzola production (Lombardy and Piedmont), ensuring authenticity and adherence to traditional PDO standards. Today, Galbani operates under the Lactalis Group, which is the largest dairy products group in the world.
