Wild Termitomyces Mushrooms

Termitomyces is a genus of edible mushrooms that share a symbiotic relationship with termites. Unlike commercially farmed mushrooms, these are typically wild-harvested. They are highly sought after in various parts of Africa and Asia for their rich, umami flavour and meaty texture. Because they rely on termite mounds for their growth environment, they cannot be mass-produced in a traditional factory setting.
