Paneangeli is an iconic Italian brand specializing in baking ingredients, most famous for its 'Pane degli Angeli' (Angel's Bread) baking powder. The brand was founded in 1932 by Ettore Riccardi in Cremona, Italy. According to brand lore, the name was inspired by a customer who described a cake made with the powder as being so soft it seemed made by angels. The turquoise packaging featuring two cherubs has remained a staple in Italian kitchens for nearly a century.
In 1990, the brand was acquired by Cameo S.p.A., which is the Italian subsidiary of the German multinational Dr. Oetker. The product shown is manufactured at the Cameo facility in Desenzano del Garda, Italy. Today, Paneangeli remains a leader in the Italian market for home baking products, including yeasts, flavorings, and decorations, while operating under the umbrella of the family-owned Oetker Group based in Germany.
