CNN (Cable News Network)

CNN, formally known as the Cable News Network, is a multinational news-based pay television channel headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia. It was founded in 1980 by American media proprietor Ted Turner and Reese Schonfeld as the first 24-hour all-news television channel in the United States.

Since its inception, CNN has expanded globally with numerous networks and services reaching more than 2 billion people. While the brand originated as part of Turner Broadcasting System, it has undergone several corporate mergers. Today, it is a flagship property of Warner Bros. Discovery, a global media conglomerate formed from the merger of WarnerMedia and Discovery, Inc. in 2022.

The network operates primarily from its centers in Atlanta, New York City, and Washington, D.C., as well as around the world through its international arm, CNN International. It remains one of the most recognized media brands globally, known for its live breaking news coverage and political reporting.
