El Dorado 12 Year Old Special Reserve Rum

El Dorado is a world-renowned brand of Demerara rum produced by Demerara Distillers Limited (DDL) in Guyana. Historically, Guyana was home to hundreds of sugar estates, each with its own distillery, but through consolidation, DDL became the sole survivor and legal guardian of these historical stills, including the unique wooden Enmore and Port Mourant stills.

The El Dorado 12-Year-Old is a 'Special Reserve' blend crafted from aged rums produced in these historic wooden and copper stills. The manufacturing process takes place entirely in Guyana, where the rum is aged in oak barrels under tropical conditions. The brand remains under the ultimate ownership of Demerara Distillers Limited, which is headquartered in Guyana, maintaining the product's deep roots in the region's heritage.
