Freitag is a renowned Swiss brand famous for creating unique bags and accessories from recycled truck tarpaulins. Founded in 1993 by brothers Markus and Daniel Freitag in Zurich, the brand was inspired by the heavy truck traffic passing their apartment and a desire for a functional, water-repellent bag for cycling. Each product is a 'one-of-a-kind' item due to the individual wear and patterns of the used tarps.

The manufacturing process involves sourcing used truck tarpaulins across Europe, which are then cleaned and cut in Zurich. While the design and initial cutting take place in Switzerland, the final sewing is distributed across various European partners in countries such as Portugal, Bulgaria, and the Czech Republic to maintain high-quality craft standards. The brand remains independently owned by the founding Freitag brothers, maintaining its commitment to circular economy principles and sustainable urban style.
